What is The Cornwall Lecture?
The Lecture is an annual event held in late November at The Hall for Cornwall Truro. It attracts speakers on international reputation and attracts an audience of 6-800 people each year. Speakers are invited to talk on current issues of social or economic importance to Cornwall.
What are its aims?
The aim of the Lecture has always been to bring international players to meet the general public and regional and local leaders from the sector themed each year. Past speakers have included, Lord Edward George, past Governor of The Bank of England, Sir Simon Jenkins, Editor, past editor of The Times, and Sir Neil Cossons, Chairman of English Heritage.
Why are we involved?
We have been the lead sponsor of the Lecture for many years and are closely involved in the running of the event. The Lecture has always addressed major themes of importance to Cornwall. Some of the lectures have made significant contributions to the thinking about the social and economic issues which are shaping the county for the future, and we are proud to be part of that.
